Confused
I think my kids are confused by the crazy weather. I told them to get ready to go and this is how they ended up: One in flip-flops, one in boots. One with a coat, one without. They have identical smiles, though, oddly enough.

Jared and I had real date on Saturday, which is rare for us. Usually we watch a movie at home and/or play games. When Jared applied to go to nursing school last fall our one regret was that Phantom of the Opera was going to be playing and we wouldn't be here to see it. So our one consolation when he didn't get accepted was that we'd be able to see it. So we bought tickets way in advance, and found out only two weeks before the show that it was not actually Phantom of the Opera, but a parallel story called "Phantom," about how he actually became the phantom, and more of his story, etc. We were really disappointed at first but decided to go see it anyway, since it got great reviews. As it turns out, it was really fantastic, and we absolutely loved it. I don't even really like theater productions that much, but I really enjoyed this one, and was even moved to tears at the end (very unlike me). It was a great date and a much needed break from the everyday.
If I were Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman I'd put it this way: "I liked it so much I almost peed my pants!"
(and Richard Gere would say to the shocked ladies "She said she liked it better than the Pirates of Penzance." I love that part.)

Mud Puddle
Joey and his friends kept coming in to fill up a bucket with water. Each time they returned with the empty bucket I noticed it got dirtier and dirtier. I went outside to investigate, and found this scene. I think my shadow adds a dramatic element to the picture.
What would it be like to be a kid again and find happiness playing in the mud?

Spork or Foon?
I remember when I was young and eating macaroni and cheese the question was always "Do you eat it with a fork or spoon?" So I thought it was funny when I asked Jason which one he wanted, he said "Both."

Baby Tyler
Swimming
Grandma and Grandpa Moore and Amy came to visit this weekend. We went swimming at their hotel on Saturday. I haven't enjoyed swimming with the kids very much before because Tyler hated it and would cry the whole time, and Joey and Jason weren't great swimmers and needed a lot of help. Now that they're older we had a lot of fun. Tyler even liked it and splashed around, squirting us with his squirt gun.

Old pics
I finally finished Tyler's scrapbook, and am starting on Joey's 2nd now. He has over 600 pictures, so it's rather overwhelming, and they're so old I can't remember what order they go in. But I've finished 2. I love these pictures because they remind me of how much fun my mom and dad had with Joey. They had only one grandkid and he was spoiled rotten. They still spoil him but they have 6 grandkids now (and one on the way! NOT MINE! My sister's) and so a trip to the zoo is not as simple.

Blood Brothers
Jason and Tyler had their iron tested yesterday at a WIC appointment. It's no big deal, just a finger poke, but it does kind of hurt. Jason went first and I covered his eyes so he wouldn't see the blood because he can't stand the sight of it. He cried, of course, and said it hurt really bad. Then it was Tyler's turn, so I put Jason down and picked up Tyler. Jason yelled, "No! Don't do it to him!!" I think he was more upset about Tyler geting poked than himself. I like to think it's brotherly love. Probably he was traumatized by the sight of Tyler's blood. Either way, it was cute.

Joey lost a tooth!
Joey FINALLY lost his first tooth. He must take after me; I didn't lose my first tooth until I was in 2nd grade, like him. I really thought he would freak out about it, but it was no big deal. Jason was more disturbed by it than Joey. Jason can't stand blood.
Since I was taking a picture of Joey, Tyler and Jason wanted to be in on the fun. We got a cute one of Tyler:
