Jared and I had real date on Saturday, which is rare for us. Usually we watch a movie at home and/or play games. When Jared applied to go to nursing school last fall our one regret was that Phantom of the Opera was going to be playing and we wouldn't be here to see it. So our one consolation when he didn't get accepted was that we'd be able to see it. So we bought tickets way in advance, and found out only two weeks before the show that it was not actually Phantom of the Opera, but a parallel story called "Phantom," about how he actually became the phantom, and more of his story, etc. We were really disappointed at first but decided to go see it anyway, since it got great reviews. As it turns out, it was really fantastic, and we absolutely loved it. I don't even really like theater productions that much, but I really enjoyed this one, and was even moved to tears at the end (very unlike me). It was a great date and a much needed break from the everyday.
If I were Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman I'd put it this way: "I liked it so much I almost peed my pants!"
(and Richard Gere would say to the shocked ladies "She said she liked it better than the Pirates of Penzance." I love that part.)

  1. I'm so glad it turned out great! How fun! I'm jealous because unlike you I love all theater productions--even bad ones, and I'm usually moved to tears at least once during every play I watch. I'm glad you had fun.

  2. Why didn't you tell me it was a double! I'm way excited to see the end on Friday, and very sorry that I forgot your sewing machine I realized today.

  3. Laura, It's OK you forgot the sewing machine because I really don't feel like sewing and it's a perfect excuse not to.
